Achieving a New Location
This school year has started with more than a bang, it’s a whole explosion! Achieve Academy has transitioned from the Curtis Center on Watson Blvd. to a dedicated school building on Elberta Road, still operating in the great city of Warner Robins, Georgia. We have actually moved into and then outgrown every building starting as a bonafide homeschool back in 1999 to a private school in 2022, a total of six times.
Our new location offers our Achievers the chance to move around, and enjoy new dedicated spaces for science, music, technology, and reading. We are centrally located on Elberta Road with easy access to Highway 247 and I-75 for our parents who travel from Fort Valley, Macon, Perry, Bryon, and Warner Robins daily.
We are so excited to be able to serve more students in the area with our full-time school program as well as one-to-one tutoring, Reading with Kings, our free literacy program, and a dynamic summer camp.
We now have access to a huge gym with a full-sized basketball court that students visit for recess every day if they are not outside enjoying the weather.
Our student body, ages 4 to 15, starts every morning at Achieve Academy with a dynamic meeting. Students confidently lead the “inspiration meeting” held in our aptly named Inspiration Room promptly at 8:00 a.m.
First, we recite our daily affirmations to start the day with positive energy and a dedication to self-improvement through hard work and kindness. Next, a student delivers a quote that has a significant meaning to them which we discuss and debate. The next student leading the meeting shares a piece of positive world news to start the day on a high. Finally, it’s time for “Celebrate Me”, a daily student lottery to become the student of the day. The Celebrate Me student is showered with kind words, high fives, a commemorative card, and a journal. Students then excitedly move to their classrooms to begin the day.
Our staff of 7 highly-qualified and nurturing teachers keeps their students on track and excited about learning. These patient teachers make sure that students ask questions, feel comfortable, make a positive contribution to the learning environment, and receive individualized instruction.
Students move to specialized classes taught with passion by each teacher throughout the day. Our teachers assess students regularly without the need for days of standardized testing. Finding gaps in a student’s learning and filling those gaps so that the student can move forward with confidence is our teachers' daily mission.
At the end of a productive day, we often hear “Awwww!” when it’s time to pack up and go home. Our Achievers love our new location. Feel free to schedule a visit!
